What this site is
Style Made American is an editorially independent website that researches and profiles clothing and home goods brands that manufacture in the United States. We don’t sell products. We don’t run ads. We don’t create user accounts. This policy covers the small amount of data we do collect and why.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how people find and use the site — things like which pages are most visited, how long people spend reading, and what topics seem most useful. This helps us decide what to write next.
Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser and collects information such as:
- Pages you visit and how long you stay
- How you arrived (search engine, direct link, etc.)
- General location (country or city — not your street address)
- Device type and browser
We do not have access to personally identifying information through analytics — we see aggregate patterns, not individual identities. IP addresses are anonymized by Google before we see any data.
If you’d prefer not to be tracked, you can install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, or use a browser extension like uBlock Origin that blocks analytics scripts by default.
Contact form
If you use the contact form to suggest a brand, send a correction, or get in touch, we collect whatever you choose to include — typically your email address and message, and optionally your name and a brand URL.
We use that information only to read and respond to your message. We don’t add you to any mailing list, share your information with third parties, or use it for any purpose beyond the conversation you initiated.
Form submissions are processed and stored by Netlify, the service that hosts this site. You can read Netlify’s privacy policy for details on how they handle form data on their infrastructure.
Cookies
The only cookies this site sets are those placed by Google Analytics for the purposes described above. We don’t use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or any other persistent identifiers beyond what analytics requires.
Third-party links
The site links to brand websites, retailers, and other external sources. Once you leave Style Made American, this policy no longer applies. We’re not responsible for the privacy practices of sites we link to.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
Changes to this policy
If we make meaningful changes to how we handle data, we’ll update this page and revise the “Last updated” date at the top. We won’t send you a notice — checking back here is the best way to stay current.
